Meeting someone new can provide a wave of excitement. From setting up the first date, to wondering if the first date will lead to a second date, and the overall feeling of wanting to know more about them, first dates can either make or break your relationship with that person. Even if YOU feel like the date went well, it's hard to know if they feel the same way. And let's face it, dating in 2019 is not the easiest thing to do!
So I have compiled a list for all of you stuck in this dating world so that you recognize the signs that the person you're on a date with is just not feeling it...
1. They're easily distracted.
When your date is easily distracted and finding more interest in what's going on around them, or constantly scrolling on their cell phone, that should be a clear sign that they're not that interested in you or a second date.
2. Theirs no follow-up phone call from them
It's pretty common now a days to get a text thanking the person for a great time right after you leave or the next morning (from both men and women). And if you're lucky, you get a phone call. If you don't get either one within 24hrs, you may not be getting one at all.
3. The conversation goes dull
When you're meeting someone for a first date, there's usually plenty of ground to cover that should make for good conversation. Although short periods of quietness are totally normal, if you've spent more time staring down at your plate, and the conversation becomes exhausting, this potential relationship is going nowhere.
4. The vibe isn't right
I'm BIG on vibes. When the vibe is right, the conversation, flirting, playfulness will come easily and won't feel forced. But, if you feel irritation at them for flirting with you, or laughing too hard, or a simple touch on your arm, this should probably be your last date.
5. Negative body language
Arms folded. Body not relaxed. Forced smile. Lack of eye contact. If you come across either of these on your first date...RUN. They are NOT interested in you.
6. You make the follow up call and the response is dry
Sorry to say, but if you reach out with a "I had a great time last night, hope we can do it again soon", and you get the thumbs up emoji, or a simple "thanks", it's a wrap. They did not have a great time last night, and it won't be happening again anytime soon.
7. They simply don't mention a second date
We all know that if someone is interested in seeing you again after the first date, the first thing you say is, "so when can I see you again?" Whether it be the man asking or the woman asking. A clear sign of not wanting a second date, is not talking about a second date.
Hopefully this will help so you’re not spiraling out of control ladies wondering why hasn’t he called. Fellas now you don’t have to wonder why her responses take so long, her tone is dry, or she’s just not responding at all. Dating is hard for everyone, and no one should have to waste their time second guessing themselves and their fabulousness over the actions of another.
