The very ugly separation between Jesse Williams and his former wife Aryn Drake-Lee continues to make headlines in 2019.
The Grey’s Anatomy star is trying to block his ex’s plea for him to front the $200,000 legal fees that she racked up in their divorce and custody battle.
According to court documents obtained by E! News, Aryn wants a court order for Jesse to pay her lawyer $100,000 and also pay $110,000 for “the forensic accounting in their ongoing case.”
This week, Williams has filed an objection in a Los Angeles court to block her request according to documents also secured by E! News.
The father of two says he shouldn’t have to heed to her request as he’s already paid over $270,000 in legal fees. He shares that why he’s not trying to evade any responsibility, he thinks his ex should some of her own money to take care of her legal expenses.
The paperwork reads, "Aryn has been able to avoid seeking meaningful employment, preferring instead to comfortably live off her substantial support...and save money while insisting that only Jesse should pay for the litigation fees for BOTH parties in this case."
The two are expected to see each other in court for a trial date later this year over a possible increase in child support.
Based on his average monthly income, Jesse Williams currently pays Aryn Drake-Lee $100k a month in support ($50k for child and spousal). The two have joint legal custody of their kids with “a flexible physical custody plan” to support his Grey’s Anatomy shooting schedule.
Do you think Jesse should go ahead and pay up or does Aryn need to take care of this 200K on her own?

Jesse Williams and Aryn Drake-Lee's very bitter divorce rages on.
He currently pays Aryn $50,695 per month in spousal support, but he thinks she "exaggerates many of our expenses and the children's needs, while also lumping her personal expenses as expenses for the children."
Plus, he says former spouse has inflated their kids’ financial demands, including $25,000 per month in college savings.
"We agreed that our children should live a simple life without wasting money on extravaganza," Jesse explained, citing Ikea furniture, home-cooked meals and low-cost family gatherings as proof of their lifestyle.
He also volunteered to cover 100% of their private school tuition.
"A constant theme throughout our divorce proceedings has been Aryn marginalizing me as a father and frustrating my custodial timeshare with the children," Jesse adds. "Aryn continues to engage in this type of behavior and punish me for having a career and working hard to provide for our family."
Jesse and Aryn decided to announce their split
on April 11th, 2017 (after more than a decade together), citing irreconcilable differences. A year or so later, the court finally awarded joint physical custody of their two children, Sadie and Maceo, to both parents. However, they also handed them very specific guidelines for communication, as well as the custodial schedule.
Aryn once accused Jesse of exposing their children to a “revolving door” of women. He later pointed out that she had the "incredible privilege of being a stay-at-home mom with a full-time nanny" because he works daily, before insisting that she is the aggressive one.
According to Page Six, the actor is seeing popular sports anchor Taylor Rooks, who currently works at SportsNet New York. She also has her own YouTube show and podcast, “TimeOut With Taylor Rooks”.
The duo were recently spotted at Kevin Hart’s new comedy show at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, NJ. Some insist that the pair spent 24 hours in America’s Playground and supposedly enjoyed a visit to the 1,400-room Ocean Resort Casino a month before its opening as its only two guests.
“They are eager to keep their romance under wraps. He’s been going through a difficult divorce [from Aryn Drake-Lee], but he’s found solace with Taylor.”
To be clear though, neither have officially confirmed or denied the rumors.
Is Jesse’s ex-wife asking for too much?
