[Update] Nelly Breaks His Silence On Being Arrested Saturday Morning For Sexual Assault Outside Seattle, Washington

Police have reportedly arrested Nelly after allegedly raping a woman. According to TMZ, Law Enforcement officials said that Nelly was arrested in the wee hours of Saturday, October 7 in Auburn, Washington after a woman called the police and accused him of raping her on his tour bus. 

The report comes as Nelly is currently on tour with country band Florida Georgia Line. KCPQ (our of Seattle, Washington) reported that the alleged victim told police that she joined Nelly on his tour bus after he finished performing at the White River Amphitheater in Auburn, Washington on Friday night. 

According to TMZ, law enforcement sources said a woman called police around 3:45 a.m. Saturday morning, immediately after the alleged incident on his tour bus. When asked by local police who she was raped by, the alleged victim clearly said Nelly who the person who raped her. 

Law enforcement officials then found Nelly’s tour bus parked near Walmart Supercenter on the 700 block of Outlet Collection Way, per KCPQ. He was reportedly arrested and booked around 7 a.m. as the South Correction Entity (SCORE) Jail in Des Moines, Iowa second-degree rape charges. Nelly was still in custody early on Saturday Morning. 

People reports that a representative of Nelly has said the alleged rape is “a completely fabricated allegation.” The spokeperson said he was confident that Nelly will not “ultimately be charged.”

This isn’t the first time that Nelly, born Cornell Ira Haynes Jr., has had a major run-in with the law.  He was arrested back in 2015 after Tennessee state troopers found traces of marijuana, ment and handgus after searching his tour bus. He as then booked on felony possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of drugs. He was released shortly afterward on bail. 
Nelly started his rap career back in 1993 with the St. Lunatics in St. Louis, Missouri. He signed to Universal Records in 1999 and released his debut album, Country Grammar, in 2000. It quickly reached number 1 on the billboard charts and sold more than 8 million copies.
